Top Speed: What We Measured

We ran the Tork both directions on a long, flat stretch with a GPS. We got 59 mph one way and 58 mph the other. The display read 64–65 mph, so it reads a little high. It was also under 40°F that day, and cold weather usually costs a bit of speed. Around 60 mph is a solid number for this class.

Range: Our Real Test Results

We ran eco mode on day one and sport mode on day two:

  • Eco mode (~28 mph average): 50 miles
  • Sport mode (~50 mph average): 26.4 miles

We expected a bit more from a 72V 45Ah pack. It landed mid-pack on our chart, just behind the Rerode R1+, which went slightly farther with a smaller 40Ah battery. That doesn't make the range bad. Different bikes just perform differently in a strict, consistent test.

Weight and Handling

This is where the Tork shines. At 155 lbs on our scale, it feels nimble and agile on the trail. It's easy to throw around, easy to pick up and easy to place where you want it. The update to a 16-inch rear wheel (80/100-16) with a 19-inch front makes it quick to turn and fun to wheelie. The 220 mm front and 203 mm rear rotors give it strong braking for its weight.

Tork Pro Sport vs Rerode R1+ vs 79Bike Falcon GT

All three bikes went through the same range test:

Tork Pro Sport Rerode R1+ 79Bike Falcon GT
Peak power 16.8 kW 17 kW 16 kW
Battery 72V 45Ah 74V 40Ah 72V 40Ah
Our GPS top speed 59 mph 59.8 mph Not tested
Our eco range 50 mi 50.7 mi 43 mi
Our sport range 26.4 mi 26 mi 20 mi
Weight 155 lbs (our scale) 151.2 lbs (our scale) 152 lbs (listed)
Price $4,599 $4,250 $4,799

Which one? The Tork and Rerode R1+ are nearly tied on our tests. The Tork has a bigger battery, a 16-inch rear and a race-bike feel. The Rerode costs less. The Falcon GT costs more and went less far in our test.
