The Heavy Hitter Stainless Top Headset Bearing Shim is built for riders who demand precision, not play. Designed and machined from high-grade 304 stainless steel, this isn’t your typical split compression ring it’s a true one-piece shim engineered to eliminate unwanted movement, improve load distribution, and keep your steering tight and consistent under extreme riding conditions.
Unlike the common aluminum split shims that rely on only 2–3mm of contact area, the Heavy Hitter version provides 100% bearing race contact, distributing force evenly throughout the entire interface. That means smoother steering feedback, longer bearing life, and zero wiggle or slop even after repeated high-impact riding.
Each shim is precision-machined with an “air-gap” tolerance for an exact fit on properly sized stems. While this does make it slightly tighter to install, it ensures perfect alignment and zero flex once seated. It’s designed for the OEM tapered roller bearing (part #32906), which outperforms ball-bearing “upgrades” that often reduce durability under load.
