Range: Our Real Test Results
This is where the XE Pro R stands out. We held eco mode at 26–28 mph and sport mode at 50 mph until the bike died:
- Eco mode (~28 mph): 75.3 miles
- Sport mode (50 mph): 40 miles
That put it 3rd overall on our range test chart. The two bikes above it are a much bigger, more expensive machine and a bike that ran efficient dual sport tires with a 19-inch front. The Pro R did it on aggressive off-road knobbies with a 21-inch front, which makes the result even more impressive. At 50 mph, it was using only about 5 kW.
Top Speed and Power
On our GPS run, the Pro R got to 60 mph very quickly and held it there. Arctic Leopard USA lists a 72 mph top speed. We saw about 60 on our test bike. With 26.5 kW and 700 Nm, it pulls hard everywhere below that. It's a great fit for trail and enduro riding, where you rarely run wide open for long.
Chassis, Suspension and Brakes
The XE Pro R runs a full enduro wheelset: a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear on CNC straight-pull hubs. It's set up for real off-road riding. A gold KKE 37 mm fork (215 mm travel) and a KKE rear shock (200 mm travel) are both adjustable for compression, rebound and preload. The brakes were a highlight in our review. They're 4-piston calipers on 240 mm rotors, and we had zero complaints. This version also gets a refined seat, updated plastics and improved controls.
The seat height is 34.3 inches, so the bike suits taller riders.
