E-Ride Pro has moved fast. The SS that a lot of riders started on has been updated to the SS 2.0, and the lineup now runs from the youth-friendly Mini up to the 25 kW SR. If you're trying to figure out where the SS 2.0 fits today, and whether you should step up, here's how the bikes compare.
Heads up: E-Ride Pro no longer makes the SS 2.0. We have a few left in stock, and this still applies if you already own one. Buying new? The SS 3.0 and 4.0 are the current models.
From the original SS to the SS 2.0
The SS 2.0 kept what people liked about the original SS (light weight, a 72V system, 19-inch wheels) and fixed the weak spots. E-Ride Pro's list of 2.0 updates:
- Updated "heavy duty" number plate
- Headlight switch now included
- New, upgraded front fork
- New, larger 80/100 rear wheel and tire
- New battery lid and connector design
- New, updated charger
- Improved performance tuning
The result: 5 kW rated / 12 kW peak, a 72V 40Ah (2,880 Wh) removable Samsung battery, 60 mph top speed, 0–30 mph in 2.36 seconds, 2–3 hour charging and a 152 lb bike weight.

| SS 2.0 | 12 kW | 72V 40Ah (2,880 Wh) | 60 mph | 152 lb | $4,299 |
| SS 3.0 | 15.8 kW | 72V 50Ah (3,600 Wh) | 62 mph | 167 lb | $4,699 |

Prices are current as of this writing and can change. For younger or smaller riders there's also the E-Ride Pro Mini.
What the newer bikes add
SS 3.0
More of everything. 6 kW rated / 15.8 kW peak, a bigger 50Ah swappable battery (64+ miles at 25 mph), 0–30 mph in 2 seconds and a 2.75-19 front / 3.00-18 rear tire setup. It also moves to a larger brake family that's shared with the SR. The trade-off is about 15 lb more weight.
4.0
Similar battery and weight to the SS 3.0, with 7 kW rated / 18 kW peak, 200–220 mm of fork travel and three levels of adjustable regen.
SR
The top of the lineup: 25 kW peak, 70 mph, 0–30 mph in 1.8 seconds, DOT4 hydraulic brakes with regen, and a longer 49.6 in wheelbase. It's the heaviest at 183 lb.
Where the SS 2.0 still makes sense
- It's the lightest full-size SS-platform bike in the lineup. At 152 lb, it's easier to flick around tight trails and easier to pick up than the 167–183 lb models.
- It costs less. It's $400 less than the SS 3.0 and $900 less than the SR.
- It has a huge parts and upgrade catalog. The SS 1.0/2.0 platform has been around long enough that bars, skid plates, brakes, forks and wheels are easy to find. See our E-Ride Pro SS 1.0/2.0 parts.
- It's plenty fast for most trail riding. Very few riders use all of 60 mph off-road.
When to step up
- You want more range per battery: go SS 3.0 or 4.0.
- You're a heavier or more aggressive rider who wants bigger brakes and more power: go SS 3.0, 4.0 or SR.
- You want the most performance E-Ride Pro offers: go SR.
