Top Speed: What We Measured
We expected about 60 mph from the spec sheet. With a 6'3", 200+ lb rider and our GPS running, the R1+ S hit 70.7 mph. That's well over Rerode's 62 mph rating. Eco mode tops out around 20–30 mph for trail riding. Sport and Sport+ unlock the rest.
Range: Our Real Test Results
- Eco mode: 73.9 miles
- Sport mode (50 mph): 36.3 miles
That put the R1+ S in 4th place all time on our range test chart of over 20 e-motos. It did that on 21/18 wheels with aggressive knobby tires. The only comparable bike that beat it was the Arctic Leopard XE Pro R, which has a bigger battery, and only by a narrow margin.
Weight and Chassis
We hung it on the scale at 165 lbs on the dot, which is very light for a bike with this much battery and full-size 21/18 wheels. In our range test video, we noted it's lighter than every bike ranked above it on our chart. It has an aluminum alloy frame, an RFloXa Hawk36R fork with 228 mm of travel and high/low-speed compression adjustment, and an RFloXa RAB50RC rear shock with a 550 lb spring. 240 mm hydraulic discs at both ends handle stopping.
Note on rider weight: Rerode lists a 100 kg (220 lb) max load. Check that against your weight plus gear before you buy.
