Rawrr Mantis X Cockpit Setup: Bars, Levers, Throttle and Pegs

A good cockpit setup costs almost nothing and makes the biggest difference in how a bike feels. Most Rawrr Mantis and Mantis X owners never touch their bars or levers after unboxing. Fifteen minutes with a set of Allen keys can fix sore wrists, arm pump and that "perched on top of the bike" feeling. This guide walks through setup first, then the parts worth upgrading.

Quick refresher: the Mantis X is Rawrr's 72V model, rated at 6.5 kW max, about 50 mph and roughly 139 lbs. It's light and easy to throw around, so how you sit on it and what your hands are touching matter a lot.

Free Adjustments: Do These First

1. Bar roll

Loosen the bar clamp and roll the bars until the bends line up roughly with the fork angle when you look from the side. Then sit and stand on the bike in your boots. When you're standing, your elbows should be up and out and your wrists close to straight. If your wrists bend down, roll the bars back a little. If you feel stretched out, roll them forward. Torque the clamp bolts evenly when you're done.

2. Lever angle and reach

Set the brake levers so your wrist and forearm stay in a straight line when you're standing, since that's when you need the brakes most. For most riders that's somewhere between flat and slightly down. Leave the lever perches just loose enough to rotate in a crash instead of snapping. Set the reach so you can grab the lever with one or two fingers without taking your grip off the bar.

3. Throttle and switch position

Make sure the throttle snaps back cleanly and doesn't rub on the grip or the bar end. Slide the switch housing so you can reach the buttons with your thumb without letting go of the bar.

4. Check everything after a crash

Even a small tip-over can knock the bars, levers or display out of line. Make a quick visual check part of your pre-ride routine.

Upgrades That Make a Real Difference

Display relocation

On the Mantis X, the stock display sits high and in front of the handlebars, which is exactly where it takes a hit in a crash. The Display Relocation Bracket Kit for the Rawrr Mantis X mounts to the upper fork clamp and moves the display to a safer spot. It works with any bar bend.

Brake levers

The KKE Aluminum Brake Levers are CNC-machined replacements for the 2023–2025 Mantis and 2024–2025 Mantis X. They're stiffer than stock and give you a better feel at the lever.

Throttle

The DirtyBike 1/4 Turn Electronic Magura Throttle is plug-and-play on the Mantis X and Mantis Mini. It's tested for minimal dead band, so it feels more precise and less twitchy, and it comes with grips.

Grips

Fresh grips are the cheapest comfort upgrade there is. ODI Half Waffle Grips or Scott Mellow Grips + Donuts cut down on vibration and blisters. Use grip glue on non-lock-on grips so they don't twist.

Foot pegs

Your feet are part of the cockpit too. Wider, grippier pegs make standing far more comfortable and give you more control:

Hand guards

Warp 9 E-Moto Hand Guards list the Mantis and Mantis X in their fitment. They protect your levers and knuckles in the trees and help the levers survive a tip-over.

Street Riding?

If you ride where it's legal to be on the road, a Tusk handlebar mirror is an easy add. Check your local rules first. The Mantis X is sold as an off-road bike.
