The stock headlight on the Talaria Sting R MX4 is fine for being seen around the neighborhood. On a dark trail it lights up a small patch right in front of the wheel, and you end up riding slower than you want to. Here are the lighting and switch upgrades that actually fit the Sting R MX4, from cheap bolt-ons to a full night-riding setup.
Headlight Upgrades
Budget Bolt-On: GritShift Blinder or Blazer
The GritShift Blinder LED Light Bar Headlight is the cheapest real improvement over stock. It's a direct-fit LED bar with a die-cast aluminum housing and needs no modifications. The GritShift Blazer LED Headlight is GritShift's newer, brighter version. It's still affordable and looks close to stock. Both are listed for the Sting MX4 and MX5.
Run a Sur-Ron Headlight
If you like the look of a Sur-Ron Light Bee headlight, our Headlight Adapter Talaria Sting MX4 to Surron Light Bee plugs into the Talaria wiring on one end and the Sur-Ron connector on the other. You don't need to cut any wires.
Serious Trail Lighting: Warp 9 Big Light
For real night trail riding, the Warp 9 "Big Light" Headlight is a 50 W, 5,000-lumen LED kit with a waterproof switch and plug-and-play harness. It fits the Sting R / MX4, but it mounts only to a compatible bar mount such as the Warp 9 Bar Mount. Plan on buying both if you're still on the stock stem.
Tail Light and Rear Visibility

Night Riding Tips
- Aim the headlight so the brightest part of the beam lands where you'll be in a second or two at trail speed, not right in front of the wheel.
- Before any accessory goes on the bike, make sure it's rated for your system. Plug-and-play parts made for the Sting are the safest bet.
- Keep connectors clean and dry. A dab of dielectric grease on lighting plugs helps after wet rides.
- Ride with a buddy and carry a small backup light. If something fails at night, you'll want to see your way out.
