Talaria XXX: Essential Protection Parts for Rough Terrain

The Talaria XXX is light and easy to throw around, which means it ends up on its side a lot in rocky, rooty terrain. Most trail damage on a XXX comes down to a few things: snapped levers, a bent rear rotor, cracked plastics and a scratched-up display. Here's what we'd add to protect a XXX before you take it somewhere rough. Everything linked lists the XXX in its fitment.

Hand Guards

A tip-over on a stock bike usually means a broken brake lever, and in the woods it means sore knuckles too. The Warp 9 E-Moto Hand Guards fit the XXX and XXX Pro. They use an aluminum bar mount instead of plastic, with a rigid HDPE shield that doesn't crack. If you want to run bar-end style guards later, the Warp 9 Tapped Handlebars have threaded ends.

Rear Brake Rotor Guard

The thin rear rotor sits right where rocks and stumps hit it, and a bent rotor drags and squeals until you replace it. The Warp 9 220mm Rear Brake Rotor Guard fits the XXX and XXX Pro. It covers both the stock rotor and 220 mm upgrades. If you've already bent one, we carry the OEM 220 mm rear rotor.

Chain Guard

The stock plastic chain guard cracks easily. The TB Talaria XXX Aluminum Chain Guard is 6061 aluminum and replaces it directly.

Motor Cover and Side Panels

The stock plastic motor cover and side panels scuff and crack in crashes. Our aluminum replacements bolt on in place of the plastic:

Display Protector

The display is one of the first things to break when the bike goes over the bars. The TB Talaria Sting Display Protector also fits the XXX display. It's cheaper than a replacement display.

Pegs and Cockpit

Underside

The motor and the bottom of the frame take hits on logs and rock ledges. Our catalog doesn't currently list a XXX-specific aftermarket skid plate. Check our E-Moto Skid Plates collection, or email us before buying one listed for another Talaria, because the Sting and XXX frames are different.

Keep It Maintained

  • After a crash, check the brake levers, rotor and bar clamp bolts before riding again.
  • Check the primary belt for chunks or fraying, and the rear chain for tension and wear.
  • Recheck any bolts on newly installed guards after the first ride. Blue threadlocker helps keep them from backing out.
