The 79Bike Falcon Pro is a fun bike right out of the crate: 10kW peak, 410 Nm of torque, a 56 mph top speed and only 130 lbs. (If you're searching for the "Falcon M," that's the older name. 79Bike now sells this bike as the Falcon Pro.) It still has stock-bike weak spots, though. The bars are low for taller riders, the pegs are narrow and slick, and the stock 70/100-19 tires are skinny, especially up front.
This list covers the parts we'd put on first: the ones that change how the bike feels under you. If you're after more speed or range, see our separate guides on gearing and on controllers.
1. Bars, Grips and Pegs (Do These First)
Your hands, feet and seat are the only parts of you touching the bike, so they make the biggest difference for the money.
- Warp 9 3in Rise Handlebars (31.8 mm clamp). The extra rise lets you stand up without hunching over. It's almost always the first thing we change on our own bikes.
- Warp 9 Upgraded Foot Pegs. They have a much wider platform and real teeth, and they fit the Falcon Pro and GT. Stock pegs are narrow and have almost no grip.
- Grips: Scott Mellow Grips + Donuts or Pro Taper Pillow Top grips cut down on vibration and arm pump.
Want all three together? The 79Bike Falcon Must Do First Upgrades bundle includes the Warp 9 3in rise bars, Warp 9 pegs and Scott Mellow grips.
Tall rider or short rider? The Warp 9 Adjustable Footpeg Mount moves the pegs 1 inch up or down from stock and fits the Falcon M, Pro, GT and Lite.
2. Tires
The Falcon Pro runs 19-inch wheels front and rear, and swapping the stock tires is one of the biggest upgrades you can make for traction. Pick a tire for where you actually ride:
- Mostly dirt and loose trails: the Tusk Ground Wire (70/100-19 front, 80/90-19 rear) was built for e-motos. You can also run a Dunlop MX34 in 70/100-19 up front.
- Pavement, hardpack, gravel and rocks: the Shinko SR 241 (2.75x19) is grippy and predictable on mixed surfaces.
Doing the swap yourself? The Ultimate Tire Change Combo Kit has the irons and tools you need. For a deeper dive, read our guide to the best tires for 19-inch e-moto wheels.
3. Brakes
Once you're riding faster, the brakes are the next thing you'll notice. Options that fit the Falcon Pro, from mild to serious:
- Bigger rotors: Warp 9 220mm rotors. The Falcon Pro needs the Warp 9 220mm adapter to run them.
- Better calipers: Formula E-Moto Brakes use a motorcycle-style master cylinder and fit the Falcon M, Pro and GT.
- Full moto brakes: the EBike Garage Moto Brake Conversion Kit puts an Ultra Bee-style brake system on the Falcon. Prefer a foot brake? Look at the EBike Garage Foot Brake Kit.
4. Suspension
The stock Fastace fork and shock are fine for trail riding at a moderate pace. If you're jumping, riding fast through whoops, or you're a heavier rider, a suspension upgrade is worth it. The EXT Suspension Upgrade Bundle (Ferro fork and Arma shock) lists the Falcon Pro and GT in its fitment. The RFloXa Hawk32 fork costs less if you only want to upgrade the front.
5. Protection and Seat
- Warp 9 E-Moto Hand Guards protect your levers and knuckles when you tip over in the woods.
- A Guts Racing complete seat or Guts gripper seat cover keeps you planted when you're standing and sitting.
- Run a direct-mount stem? Add a Warp 9 Stem Lock to keep the headset tight. The Falcon Pro and GT need the Fender Mount version.
Our Order of Operations
- Bars, pegs and grips (or the first-upgrades bundle)
- Tires for your terrain
- Brakes
- Suspension, once you're riding hard enough to feel its limits
