Top 5 Talaria Upgrades for Maximum Performance

If you want your Talaria to ride better, these are the five upgrades that make the biggest difference for the money, in the order we'd do them. The catch with Talaria is fitment. The Sting MX3, Sting R MX4, Sting MX5 and XXX share fewer parts than you'd think, so each section below calls out what fits which bike.

1. Tires

Stock Talaria tires are narrow and give up traction early. A good knobby is the cheapest way to make any Talaria feel more planted.

2. Cockpit: Bars, Pegs and Grips

These cost the least and change how the bike feels the most, especially for taller riders.

Our model-specific bundles cover the basics in one order: Sting MX3/MX4 Must Do First Upgrades, Sting MX5 Recommended First Upgrades and XXX Must Do First Upgrades.

3. Brakes

Once you're riding faster, the stock brakes are the next thing you'll notice.

4. Suspension

Whatever you ride, set sag for your weight before you spend money. It's free.

5. Controller and Motor

Do this last, after the bike can stop and handle what it already has. The EBMX X-9000 V3 Controller works across the Sting MX3 / MX4 / MX5 and XXX with the matching V3 harness. For motors, look at the Sotion FW02 for the MX3 / MX4, the EBMX XTA-60 for the Sting (MX5 needs the adapter kit), and the EBMX XLB-60 for the XXX. Big power numbers usually need an upgraded battery. Power upgrades are for off-road use.
